Game Changer @ Stane St. Syndicate

Stane St.Syndicate’s monthly Game Changer nights constitute the newest addition to London’s thriving gaming scene. These themed nights (previous themes have included fighting games among other things) feature several retro consoles being set up around the venue, each running a game that correlates with that night’s topic. So, for example, the theme on June 8^th was Mario Kart, so attendees were free to get to grips with a SNES, a Nintendo 64, a Gamecube and a Wii, all running their versions of the popular Nintendo racer. Each event also has an appointed game which is the subject of a gruelling tournament. Prizes are extremely generous ; the winner of Mario Kart night won a bar-tab of £50!

It is this very Mario Kart night I had the pleasure of going along to.  All the other attendees were very friendly and everyone seemed to be there to have a good time. The organiser Shane was happy to answer any questions attendees had, and got stuck in with socialising and playing Mario Kart with us when he wasn’t hosting the night’s main tournament. His wife Cas (who happens to be the manager of the joint) was similarly personable, and got stuck in to the activities!

Entry to Game Changer is free, as is taking part in the festivities. However the venue is a business, so we recommend attendees to atleast buy a drink if attending (even if it is just a Coke).
