Smash Direct Presentation Round Up

Yesterday’s Smash Direct introduced several new characters and stages to the Super Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U roster.
- The first character announced was Corrin who is the main protagonist in the upcoming Fire Emblem Fates. Like Wii Fit trainer, Robin and Villager players will be able to choose male and female versions of the characters. Corrin will be available for purchase as a download for $4.99 / €4.99 / £4.49 for Super Smash Bros for 3DS or Wii U or $5.99 / €5.99 / £5.39 for both game versions in a bundle. The target launch date is currently February 2016.
- Cloud Strife who was announced in last month’s Nintendo Direct was shown in his original FF7 and his Advent Children costumes. In addition there is also a Midgar stage in which players can collect Summon Materia that will call forth summons such as Ifrit, Bahamut ZERO, Ramuh and Leviathan that will impact the stage in different ways. Cloud and the Midgar stage are available NOW priced (for either 3DS or Wii U) at £5.39 / €5.99 / $5.99, or both game versions together for £6.29 / €6.99 / $6.99.
- Bayonetta is the last of the new characters to be added to the list and was according to Sakurai was the number one Fighter Ballot choice in Europe, top five in North America and worldwide winner. Each individual version (character + stage) will be $5.99 / €5.99 / £5.39, or it’ll be $6.99 / €6.99 / £6.29 for the same DLC on both Wii U and 3DS.
- There will be new amiibo figures released for Ryu. Roy and R.O.B in Famicom colours on March 18th 2016, with amiibo being confirmed for the newly announced Corrin, Cloud and Bayonetta later in 2016.
- There are several new costumes for Mii Fighter characters from Tails, Knuckles to Geno and Chocobo.
