Upcoming StreetPass Meets in Ireland

Early 2017 is aflush with Nintendo events happening around Ireland! StreePassUK is a network of Nintendo 3DS (and soon to be Switch) owning fans who get together and game with one another. It previously consisted only of groups in mainland Britain (save for a cheeky StreetPass Derry event that happened once). However, it is proud to now boast two groups in the Irish Republic (StreetPass Donegal and StreetPass Limerick) as well as happily welcoming back StreetPass Derry (who have recently regrouped).

First up on the events front in February, is the StreetPass Donegal meetup. Taking Place on February the 19th in Buncrana, this will be StreetPass Donegal’s second event to date. 3DS owners are encouraged to charge up their consoles and head on down, bringing along whatever games tickle their fancy, as they’re bound to find someone to engage in multiplayer with! StreetPass Derry have confirmed their event will take place on March 25th (the weekend following St Patrick’s Day). Expect all the usual 3DS shenanigans, plus an attendee or two may even be spotted rocking a Nintendo Switch (if you’re thinking of bringing along a Nintendo Switch to a StreetPass event please see the disclaimer at the bottom). As alluded to in the introduction ; StreetPass Derry is one of the oldest SPUK groups. It went through a long period of inactivity, however. Thankfully local fan Ronnie Gomersall has agreed to take the helm, and it has resumed it’s place as the only StreetPass group in Northern Ireland (to date atleast).

Last but not least we have StreetPass Limerick’s first event, coming in April. The final details are currently being ironed out, but you can expect the event details to be posted very soon on their Facebook group (which you can find here). Yet another fun day out for Switch and 3DS owners

Disclaimer : unfortunately none of these groups have insurance. As a result we advise all those attending to be cautious and keep an eye on their belongings at all times (especially expensive games consoles!).

With regards children at meets ; every group has it’s own individual policy, so do be sure to enquire with your local group on what it’s particular set of rules are if you are under 18 or wishing to accompany someone who is.
