3DS to get 13 more Game Gear games on Virtual Console

The lack of Game Gear games on the Virtual Console has been of some concern for SEGA fans, but they have reason to rejoice following today’s announcement.

According to the latest North American Nintendo Direct broadcast, there will be an additional 13 Game Gear games coming to the Virtual Console service in the near future. There is the list of games that will be released:

• Crystal Warriors
• Columns
• Shining Force II: The Sword of Hajya
• Defenders of Oasis
• Sonic Blast (Already available in Europe)
• Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
• Sonic Drift 2
• G-Loc Air Battle
• Tails Adventure
• Sonic the Hedgehog
• Sonic the Hedgehog 2
• Sonic Laybrinth (Already available in Europe)
• Vampire: Master of Darkness

That makes 11 of these new to Europe, as Sonic Blast & Sonic Labyrinth are already available in Europe. While these havent been 100% confirmed in Europe as of yet, we are pretty sure they will follow suit shortly after their US release.
A interesting note to point out is that if a SEGA game was to be released on a Nintendo console 20 years ago, there would have been flame wars on a massive scale due to the rivalry of both Nintendo and SEGA in the day.
