Happy 10th Birthday Nintendo DS

10 years ago, Nintendo released their ground breaking handheld the original DS in North America (Europe got the DS on 11th March 2005) and brought with it many well-loved games such as Mario Kart DS, Brain Training, Tetris DS and so on.

The success of the DS range truly is extraordinary; the range of models from the original (phat DS) to the DSi XL has sold over 154 million systems, easily the most successful portable gaming console of all time — amazingly the DS Lite accounted for over 93 million of those sales alone.

Now the DS torch has been much been put out and the 3DS torch burns in it’s place. Here’s hoping that the 3DS will reach 10 years as well.
