Pokemon GO increased 3DS Pokemon game sales.

Ninatic’s Pokemon Go has had a positive effect on sales for Pokemon titles on the 3DS (X,Y, Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby) in July and August 2016 especially when the Pokemon Go craze was at it’s highest levels.

Gaming analyst Daniel Ahmad showed this chart on his Twitter Feed on the sales of 3DS Pokemon games in each region.

With Pokemon Sun/Moon coming this November this will surely increase Nintendo’s forecasts with new potential players as well as veteran players.
