For those who have wondering if Nintendo were going to follow up from the NES Classic Edition with a SNES version can be relieved that Nintendo have announced that the SNES Classic Edition will be released in North America and Europe on 29th September for $79.99 (which comes with two controllers) and 21 games included the never released Starfox 2 (EU/UK prices are TBC)
The games confirmed are:
- Contra III: The Alien Wars
- Donkey Kong Country
- EarthBound
- Final Fantasy III (FFVI in Japan)
- F-ZERO
- Kirby Super Star
- Kirby’s Dream Course
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
- Mega Man X
- Secret of Mana
- Star Fox
- Star Fox 2
- Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
- Super Castlevania IV
- Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts
- Super Mario Kart
- Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
- Super Mario World
- Super Metroid
- Super Punch-Out!!
- Yoshi’s Island
The NES Classic became hard to find quickly after launch, so many had to resort to going on CEX and eBay which had them sold for £130 onwards (RRP was £49.99). So will Nintendo produce more to ensure that the SNES Classic Mini doesn’t become a scalpers’ target like it’s NES brother?
