Nintendo Direct 1st April stream summary

Yesterday’s stream which at first most people thought as an April Fools joke due to the day it was on, shows us what Nintendo is bringing out for the 3DS and Wii U in the coming months and even next year.

Highlights for 3DS:

  • Azure Strike Gunvolt is released on the EU eShop and for the next 3 months will be bundled with Mighty Gunvolt at no extra charge
  • The new Fire Emblem (for 2016 release) will make you pick between two sides and that affects the story and gameplay.
  • Pokemon Rumble World coming out next week, like Pokemon Shuffle it will be F2P (Free to Play).
  • 2 New Streetpass Mii Plaza games (Streetpass Fishing and Streetpass Zombies) as well as “Premium Mode”.
  • BOXBOY! available to download from today.
  • Attack on Titan game coming in May for 3DS, plus first 2 episodes of the anime available for download.
  • Code Name S.T.E.A.M. update will speed up AI moves and Marth amiibo figurines will be re-stocked due to demand.
  • Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer arriving on 3DS with amiibo cards and NFC Reader.
  • Mewtwo and Lucas (Earthbound) will be on Super Smash Bros for 3DS and Wii U.
  • Poll for new characters in SSB 3DS/Wii U and more amiibo waves announced.

Highlights for Wii U:

  • Mario Kart 8 DLC to included Animal Crossing tracks and characters. Also 200cc mode will be available for free download.
  • N64 and DS games available on Wii U Virtual Console. (Super Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64, Mario Kart DS & Warioware Touched)
  • Fatal Frame 5 heading to the West in 2015
  • Mario Maker arriving in September as part of Mario 30th anniversary celebrations.
  • Yoshi’s Woolly World Release and amiibo Details confirmed, includes special knitted amiibo figures
  • Splatoon set for 29th May.
  • Pandora’s Tower and Sin & Punishment 2 hitting the Wii U eShop in Europe in April.
  • The Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem crossover for Wii U has gameplay videos shown, due in 2016.
