Shantae (GBC) arrives on the Virtual Console this June

Wayforward has confirmed that the Game Boy Color game Shantae will be released on the eShop’s Virtual Console for this June.

Shantae itself was originally released back in 2002 on the Game Boy Color, pretty late into the console’s lifespan as its successor the Game Boy Advance (GBA) was released in late 2001, hence the game itself is very rare and can fetch a good fortune on eBay.

The sequel Shantae: Risky’s Revenge was released on the DSiWare in late 2010 and a another sequel will be released for the 3DS later this year, which is due to the series’ increasing fanbase.
